Founded in 1982, On Location NC Film & Video specializes in equipment rental and crewing services—without competing with full-service production companies. Many of our clients are production teams working remotely in North Carolina from other states or countries. Our mission is to provide seamless, non-competitive support to these teams, offering top-tier equipment and experienced crew members. Over the years, we have served clients across most of the 50 states, as well as Canada, Europe, Australia, and Asia.
Equipment Rentals & Expert Crewing
While we offer professional, vetted crew members—including DPs, Camera Operators, and Sound Engineers—most of our work focuses on equipment rental, sometimes paired with a local gaffer, grip, or PA in the extended Raleigh area. We provide crew for both union and non-union projects, as North Carolina is a right-to-work state with an active union presence. Our team consists of top-tier freelance professionals, ensuring the highest standards of quality and reliability. We are fully insured, with workers' compensation coverage and corporate auto insurance for our truck drivers.
Remote Streaming and Production
We also offer remote streaming solutions, allowing clients to supervise or conduct interviews from anywhere in the world. For example, we facilitated a remote interview for the Smithsonian Channel, setting up a green screen in a New Bern, NC hotel while the interviewer directed the session from Berlin, Germany.
